Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura 29 Year Old
Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura 29 Year Old is a confined edition, single malt whiskey that was once launched with the aid of the Glenfiddich Distillery, Scotland, in collaboration with Japanese cherry blossom experts, Seiichiro Takeuchi and Masayoshi Sakurai. This special expression has been aged for 29 years in American oak casks and completed in Japanese oak casks that have been in the past used for making cherry blossom wine.
The Glenfiddich Grand Yozakura 29 Year Old is named after the Japanese cherry blossom season, Yozakura, which interprets to “nighttime cherry blossoms” in English. The whiskey has a mild golden colour and a floral and fragrant nose, with a trace of vanilla and ripe fruits. The palate is clean and complex, with honey, roses, and citrus fruits. The end is lengthy and lingering, with a refined smokiness and a refined contact of cherry blossom.
This uncommon expression is bottled at 43.2% ABV and is introduced in a handcrafted porcelain bottle, embellished with cherry blossom motifs and a sakura-shaped stopper. Each bottle is in my view numbered and comes with a wood presentation case, entire with a certificates of authenticity and a booklet explaining the collaboration between Glenfiddich and the Japanese cherry blossom experts.
The Glenfiddich Grand 29 Year Old is a tribute to the Japanese lifestyle and the splendor of the cherry blossom season, as properly as a party of the artwork of whiskey-making and the craftsmanship of the Glenfiddich Distillery. This restricted version expression is surprisingly sought after through whiskey collectors and fanatics round the world and is regarded a masterpiece of the Glenfiddich range.
